Speed test for aspiring triathletes this Sunday
CEBU, Philippines - A triathlete's victory in events he or she is joining in do not always speak about their real capacity as they need proper monitoring.
With that, the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu in partnership with TriCebu will hold Cebu's first Speed Prognostic Test at 7 am this Sunday at SHS-AdC campus in Brgy. Canduman, Mandaue City.
SPT is leveling for triathlon. It involves quarterly time trial test and monitoring program for beginners, recreational and competitive triathletes, swimmers and runners who want to check on the progress of their performances.
The SPT will be done quarterly. The distance that athletes aged 12 years old and above must comply with are 1K swim in a 25-meter swimming pool and a 5K run in a 400m track oval.
The SPT has been part of the SHS- AdC's triathlon program adopted from Triathlon Australia by TRAP Level 2 National Head Coach for Junior Developmental team Melvin Fausto.
In line with this, the SPT will be used by the SugbuTriathlon as basis for its category grouping in its future raced. It will also determine Cebu's representatives to the Batang Pinoy next month in Bacolod since triathlon will no longer have a a regional qualifying.
Registration fee is pegged at P500. It will cover the services rendered by Tri Dimensions Group and time keepers.
