Sunsport camp resumes, still accepting students

EBV - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Sunsport basketball camp resumes tomorrow and the organizers announced that they are still accepting students for their weekly training program at the Sacred Heart Center Sports Club along D. Jakosalem Street, this city.

The five-week cage clinic will be held on Saturdays covering two hours per session.

Camp director Giovannie “JoJo” Romarate said in the course of their training, the participants will learn both the fundamentals and technical aspect of the sport.

"We will impart to our students the basics of the sport such as proper shooting, dribbling, passing, footwork and other related drills," said Romarate, presently the head coach of Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) Skyblazers.

"The campers will also be taught on some offensive and defensive strategies, on-court communication and other technical aspect of the game," he added. "Above all these drills, we want to instill in them the value of hardwork, discipline and teamwork as well as the spirit of sportsmanship, which is the very essence of a well-rounded athlete."

Registration fee is pegged at only P1, 000 inclusive of an upper jersey and a Sunsport basketball 2013 edition.
