Lions outfox Tigers in CSCC E-League

CEBU, Philippines - The Teleperformance Lions won an air-tight battle against the equally-tough Wipro Tigers, 60-56, in the continuing action of the 9th CSCC E-League for Basketball last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

The two protagonists fought tooth and nail from start to finish with neither side leading by more than four points.

After the first 10 minutes of play, Teleperformance emerged with just a two-point lead, 16-14, but deftly safeguarded it until the closing seconds of the contest to escape with a four-point victory.

Marco Antonio Real topscored for Teleperformance with 18 points on top of five assists of four steals followed by Joselito Ruiz with 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and as many steals.

Neptune Carungay topped Wipro with 21 points, two rebounds and two blocks, while Reinario Salibay, Jr. netted 15 markers in a losing cause.

In the other games, the Sykes Pioners and Kyocera Frontiers won by default over the listless Talleco Bandits and Author Solutions, Inc. (ASI) Hardbacks, respectively.
