Accenture, Aegis stay unbeaten in CSCC E-League

CEBU, Philippines - The Accenture Sharks and Aegis Vipers blasted separate foes to keep their unbeaten records intact after one month of intense hardcourt action in the 9th CSCC E-League for Basketball 2013 last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Accenture capitalized on the explosive triumvirate of Archie Brian Vincent Batua, Ryan Edward Llanos, and Julian Kyle Suerte to prolong the agony of the struggling Telstra-Teletech Titants, 87-80, and coast to their fourth straight victory, while Aegis relied on a balanced offensive to pummel the Kyocera Frontiers, 71-53, and stretch their winning streak to three games.

Batua had 24 points, 10 rebounds and two assists, Llanos scored 20 on top of three rebounds and the same number of assists, while Suerte chipped in 18 points, three assists and three steals for Accenture, which was in full control of the match after taking an early 24-21 lead. They sustained their momentum in the final half on the way to push Telstra-Teletech, a two-time champion, to its worst 0-3 start in the league's nine-year history.                                                        Edsel Capillanos paced Telstra-Teletech with 17 points and three assists followed by Clifford Amarado with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Aegis, on the other hand, showed great team effort in its 18-point demolition of Kyocera. All 14 players of Aegis hit the scoring chart led by Ryan Veloso and Rudolfo Enreterina III with a combined 21 points, nine assists, six rebounds and four steals.

So dominant was Aegis that it did not give Kyocera any breathing space after they got off to a hot 14-5 start.

Ariel Ramonito Edera had 15 points, while Randel Tutor added 11 points and three assists for Kyocera, which slipped to its second consecutive setback.

In the main game, Lexmark improved its win-loss record to 2-1 following a 52-48 conquest of the SSI Warriors. They trailed by three in the early goings, 10-13, but turn things around using a 13-7 run in the second canto.

Jake Pia was the lone double-digit scorer for Lexmark with 12 on top of three rebounds. Lawrence Daven Dagas submitted 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals for SSI, which crashed to its second loss in a row.
