GMA-7 grabs solo lead in NBAC

CEBU, Philippines - GMA-7 Kapuso  is the only remaining team undefeated after they shackled  The Freeman-Cebu Daily News (CDN) Red Shamans, 88-80, in the Newsmen Basketball Association of Cebu (NBAC) 2013 Season yesterday at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Gymnasium.

Godfrey Rellin exploded with 25 points, while reigning MVP Gabriel Bonjoc scattered 21 points for GMA-7 who sealed an automatic semifinals berth in the tournament.

GMA-7 led survived a late scoring rally by the Red Shamans in the third quarter to capture their fourth straight victory.

Jonas Panerio topped The Freeman-CDN with 41 points, followed by Peter Romanillos and Calvin Cordova with 14 and 13 markers each.

In the first game, Sunstar Daily-Bombo Radyo snatched their first win in the tournament with a 70-61 whacking of CCTN-47. Phillip Cerojano paced Sunstar Daily-Bombo Radyo with 34 points, while Juril Patiño chipped in 12 points.
