Cebu to host another international football event tomorrow

CEBU, Philippines - Two weeks after the historic AFC President’s Cup, another international football event will take place in the Queen City of the South.

Tomorrow at 6 pm, the FAM-Frenz Under-15 ASEAN Championships will take place at the Cebu City Sports Center featuring Malaysia’s Frenz against the Philippines’ Global FC developmental team.

The match is open to the public for free. However, they have to pay for CSSC's entrance fee of P15.

Like the Group B stage of the AFC President’s Cup, the event is an inter-club action for the youngsters that also feature national team members of different countries.

Cebu Football Association led by its president Ricky Dakay cameto the “rescue” for host Phl as the Rizal Memorial Stadium is unavailable for the event.

Aside from tomorrow’s game, there is another chance for Cebu to host another match.

With this development, the last elimination game of the 40-above division pitting JEH United against KN Ferraren has been moved right after the Phl Global-Malaysia match duel.

Meanwhile, in the 13th Cebu Inter-Club Football Cup, the Queen City United gambled on becoming the no.2 team in men’s open group A, dropping a 1-2 decision to San Roque Rehab yesterday.

QCU ends its elimination round campaign with a 4-1 win-loss record, while San Roque Rehab still has a game left today against Danao.

If San Roque wins, they will take the no.1 spot and will likely play against Hiroshi FC, who is expected to take the no.1 spot of group B. (FREEMAN)
