Cebu jins shine in ASEAN tikefest
CEBU, Philippines - All five Cebuano poomsae artists who formed part of Team Philippines all won medals during the 11th ASEAN Taekwondo Championship recently at Nay Pyi Taw in Myanmar.
Multi-titled Cebuano jin Ken Toledo, one of the international referees in the Myanmar tilt, relayed to The Freeman that the Cebuanos came up with three silver medals and one bronze
Moses Bullicer and Miguel Calamba snatched silver medals in the team poomsae seniors category (forms), while Maegan Bugarin also settled for silver in the juniors division.
Rinna Babanto, on the other hand, wound up with a bronze medal in the girls individual contest.
Cebuana world champion Mikaela Calamba did not take part in the competition as she is currently in deep training for the Asian Junior Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia next month. (FREEMAN)
