Prime Asia makes it 7-0 in Enervon Partner’s Cup

Gabby G. Malagar - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Prime Asia Lending-UV Green Lancers needed only a third-quarter surge to swat away the Lion Tiger-USPF Panthers, 87-78, and stay perfect after seven starts in the Enervon CESAFI Partner's Cup 2013 men's basketball tournament last Friday night at the Cebu Coliseum.

Earlier, the Cebu Landmasters-USC Warriors launched a massive endgame offensive to score a vengeful 91-79 victory over the Gaisano Capital South-UC Webmasters and even their win-loss record to 5-2 in a tie with their victims.

It was veteran playmaker John Michael Abad who brought Lion-Tiger into a virtual clinic, pouring in all his 20 points in the third period where Prime Asia ripped the game apart.

A basket by reigning CESAFI MVP Wowie Escocio gave Prime Asia its largest lead at 25 points, 78-53, early in the fourth period. The rest, they say, was history.

Escocio finished with 13 points, while Nigerian recruit Steve Cedrick Akomo contributed 11 markers as Prime Asia heads to another clean sweep.

Joseph Sedurifa had 19 points for Lion Tiger, which dropped to 2-5.
