JP Steelwood ‘81/85 claims USCBHABA championship

CEBU, Philippines - JP Steelwood '81/85 swept Batch ’95, 89-58, to bag the Division 1 title of the University of San Carlos Boys High Alumni Basketball Association (USCBHABA) 2012-2013 season.

JP Steelwood started out hot from the get go, taking a 54-27 at halftime with former PBA player Lou Regidor banging in 19 of his game-high 26 points in the first half onslaught.

It was cruise control from there all the way to the championship. This was Batch 81/85’s second straight USCBHABA Division 1 title after winning the 2012 Summer League earlier.

Regidor’s Batch ’85 sidekick Bing Pua added 16 points, while Dean Wong chipped in 14 markers. Batch 95, which played without main man Dale Caparas, was led by Wendell Cenas with 19 points. Danny Borbajo chipped in 14 points while Christian Solon had 10 in a losing effort.
