Class 2003 stuns ‘96 in CECABA

EBV - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Dimsum Frito 2003 showed great team effort as it stunned First Family Appliance Circle '96, 41-38, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Tuesday night at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

No player cashed in double figures for Class 2003, but its balanced offensive was more than enough to upset the league-leading Class '96.

Class 2003 was also without their top gunner Joey Catipay, who is on sickbay, but luckily for them they caught Class '96 at their worst game of the season.

Chester Siao, Jim Paul Yankee and Irene Ferdinand Lague connived for 25 points for Class 2003, which now holds an improved 10-4 win-loss record.

Ruschmarc Lariosa posted 12 points on top of two rebounds and two steals but went home on a pensive note as Class '96 suffered its third loss in 14 games.

In the other match, Raymark Ryan Ong had 20 points, three rebounds and two steals as Wild Rice 2007 claimed its first ever back-to-back wins at the expense of Young Builders '91, 48-46.

Peter de la Torre had 14 points and six rebounds for Class '81, which absorbed its 10th setback against only four wins. (FREEMAN)
