Class '99 split games in CECABA hoop

CEBU, Philippines - Jepoy '99 split their games just two nights apart in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the City Sports  Club-Cebu gym.

Class '99 rallied past Shell '80s last Sunday, 65-60, but fell prey to Las Vegas KTV-M16 Disco '94, 58-46, on Tuesday evening.

Mark Eugene Bukiron topscored for Class '99 in both matches, cashing in 32 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals against Class '80s and churning our 21 points, three rebounds and two assists against Class '94.

Class '99 dropped to 7-6, while Class '80s suffered its fourth loss in 13 starts.

Stanley Gaw and Anthony Chua each scored 14 points, while Wellington Yu added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists as Class '94 bettered its win-loss record to 8-5. After blowing hot and cold in the first three quarters, Class '94 used a devastating 26-8 rally at the endgame to blow away Class '99.

In the other game, star center Sammy Sia scattered 24 points and pulled down eight rebounds as Argentina Corned Beef '84/87/90  escaped with a 57-54 win over PTT 2005.

Paul Michael Cabellon added 17 points and nine rebounds as Class '84/87/90 notched its only third win in a dozen games. Jake Cedeño and Ryan Chua each scored 12, while Kent Benedict Uy added 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals for Class 2005, which slipped to 2-9. (FREEMAN)
