Dimsum Frito now 2-0 in CECABA
CEBU, Philippines - Dimsum Frito 2003 cruised to its second straight victory at the expense of Dewfoam '88, 49-44, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Friday night at the CEC gym.
Joey Catipay had a solid double-double show of 16 points and 12 rebounds for Class 2003, which weathered a spirited resistance by Class '88 all game long to escape with a five-point win.
Winston Tan cashed in a dozen markers as Class 2003 dealt Dewfoam its third loss in five starts.
Robert Lim and Gregorio Aguilar, Jr. paced Class '88 with 13 points apiece.
In the other game, Joseph Baluyos, Jr. unloaded 19 points on top of five rebounds, three assists and two steals as Fil-Ann 2009 ended its two-game skid with a 54-44 whacking of the previously unbeaten Jepoy '99.
Baluyos drew huge support from Alfie Dwight Miranda Sy with 14 points, six rebounds and two assists as they handed Class '99 its first defeat of the season after a 2-0 start.
Mark Eugene Bukiron was the long bright spot for Class '99 with 21 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and three steals. (FREEMAN)
