NM Hardware ‘95 goes 3-0 in CECABA

CEBU, Philippines - New Millennium Hardware '95 outlasted 3R Audio '98, 56-46, to stay unbeaten after three games in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Thursday night at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Speed demon Donald Anthony Ting submitted 13 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Raymond Gollon added 12 points, five rebounds and four assists for Class '95, which used a sizzling final-half offensive to repulse Class '98.

Class '95 trailed by two at halftime, 21-23, but changed the course of the match in its favor using a 18-9 run in the third period. Class '95 sustained its momentum in the final stretch to come up with a double digit win.

Joseph James Yu added 12 points and three rebounds for Class '95, which also drew 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks from Dean Dy Teves.

Despite their setback, Rex Millan still has something to be happy about as he joined the league's elite 1,000-point club, becoming the 56th player to achieve such feat in CECABA's 14-year history. He finished with 13 points on a 4-of-9 shooting from the field spiked with a pair of 3-pointers.

In the other game, Wellington Yu charted 16 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals as Las Vegas KTV-M16 Disco '94 slammed PTT 2005, 57-43, to improve its win-loss record to 2-1.

Stanley Gaw banged in 15 points, six rebounds and two assists, while Anthony Chua added a dozen markers on top of four rebounds for Class '94, which easily shrugged off a lukewarm start on the way to hand Class 2005 its second straight loss.
