Sinulog beach volley tourney on today

CEBU, Philippines -  The toughest and the best Cebuano beach volley player will be known soon with the introduction of the “King of the Beach” tournament via the 1st Sinulog Beach Volley Cup today at the new sandcourt at the back of Fort San Pedro.

Unlike in most sandcourt battles wherein one’s teamwork is highly important, the KOB format tests each player's capabilities to play with a different partner in each game and at the same time be at his best to score as many points possible.

With this, the players with the most points scored in all games played will advance to the playoffs, which will be will be a round robin action. The player with most points will be crowned as 'King of the Beach'.

This introductory format here will first test the know-how of male players first as the women’s division is scheduled on February 2-3 yet.

The event, organized by the Cebu City Sports Commission in association with the Sinulog Foundation and  the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) will be supervised by PSC consultant and coach Eric Lecain.
