Springdale teams split games in Aboitiz football

CEBU, Philippines - PAREF-Springdale’s teams A and B met contrasting fates in their boys 14 division of the 15th Aboitiz Sports Field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Springdale-A enjoyed a 13-0 victory over Sacred Heart School-Hijas de Jesus to take the driver’s seat in bracket A.

Sabin Veloso led Springdale's assault with five goals. Ivan Palmero added three as Mario Lorenzo Ceniza and Mark Araneta chipped two goals each and Terence Colmenares had one.

While Springdale-A went on a scoring spree, its team B suffered a 15-0 beating at the hands of Subangdaku FC.

Ivan Ouano sank five goals as Subangdaku coasted to its third win, while Lawrence Colina drilled in four goals. Major Dean Ebarle and Charles Baluyot added two goals each, while Jeram Obbus and John Terrecampo completed Subangdaku's scoring chart.

Springdale though was unstoppable in boys 12 following a 16-0 rout of CPMS.

The first half saw Stefano Dino, Kobe Scott and Luis Roxas knocking in three goals for Springdale. Roxas and Din nailed one goal each again in the second half along with Angelo Ortiz, Patrick Ganas and Ayrton Fernan, while Bienvedido Cimafranca banged in two goals.

In the other boys 12 games, Don Bosco posted a 10-0 victory against CIE, Don Bosco-2 pulled off a 2-0 win against SRP FC, while Hijas de Jesus finally barged into the win column at the expense of Don Bosco-3, 4-0.

In the players 8 action, Bright Academy now enjoys the solo lead in bracket A after grabbing a 7-1 win against Don Bosco-A.

BMALV trails Bright Academy with two wins after silencing Don Bosco-2.

 Two other Don Bosco squads, however  hurdled their respective matches. Don Bosco-C won against Canduman, 1-0, while Don Bosco-4 outsmarted CPMS 2-1.

In the other games, St. John Kenty silenced Don Bosco E, 8-0, Hijas de Jesus buried Don Bosco-D, 17-0, while Ateneo de Cebu dumped Don Bosco-F, 11-0.

In players 10, Canduman swept its first round assignments after posting a 9-0 triumph over Don Bosco-3. (FREEMAN)
