Ravanes rules Bottom-out downhill competition
CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano cyclist Eusebio Ravanes sealed his 2012 campaign on a bright note, winning the premiere division of the Bottom-out Downhill Competition recently at San Carlos Heights in Brgy. Quiot, this city.
Ravanes bested 11 other veteran contenders with the best time of two minutes and 36.09 seconds in the final run.
Jonathan Verga placed second with a 2:42.58 clocking, while Maximo Villarta finished third in 2:43.35.
The next two sports were occupied by Galvin Galan (2:48:31) and Jokie Gonzales (2:52:26).
On the other hand, Tom Michael Tan and Mark Racal shared the spotlight with Ravanes after dominating their respective divisions.
Tan ruled in the masters A for riders 29 years old and under with the time of three minutes and 20 seconds. Kenneth Zafra wound up second in 3:32 followed by Mark Paner with the time of 3:39.
Racal lorded it over in masters B for 30-above riders with a time of 2:55 followed by Andy Abella (3:35). (FREEMAN)
