Colonnade Youth chessfest this pm
CEBU, Philippines - At least 80 young pawnpushers will test their skills in the Cebu Chess Association-organized 1st Colonnade Mall Youth Open Tournament today.
The participants are mostly from the three age brackets, the 20-under, 14-under and 12-under, but they will be playing in one whole group.
For those who want to join the competition, they have only until at 12nn today to register.
The contest that will begin at 1:30 pm followed a 7-round Swiss system format.
Cash prizes and chess literature will be given away to the winners courtesy of Rose Pharmacy, A1 Handlers Inc., Engr. and Archt. Jefrey M. Solis and Colonnade Mall.
The games will be supervised by FIDE (International Chess Federation) arbiters Marvin Ruelan and Roger Abella. (FREEMAN)
