CEBU, Philippines - The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)-Cebu Chapter is organizing the first ever ‘Cooperative Advocacy Run’ slated on January 6 next year at the historic Plaza Independencia.
Supported by Regional Cooperative Development Council-7 and city government of Cebu, the event aims to promote awareness on the existence of a bunch of cooperative groups here in the province.
“Right now, we have 236 Coop registered and with this run, we hope that they will be recognized by the public especially the small ones,” said CDA OIC Director Philip Neri in a press conference yesterday at the office of Vice Mayor Augustus Joy Young.
The categories to be contented are the 3K, 5K and 10K open.
For her part, City Councilor Nida Cabrera said aside from supporting the race, the City council also wants to help in propagating projects for the different cooperative groups here.
Cash prizes will be given away to the top finishers. The top three in the 10K will receive P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000, respectively, while the 5K winners will go home with P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000.
