CEBU, Philippines - It's all systems go as the municipality of Consolacion hosts the 3rd Coca-Cola Engineer’s Fiesta Cup for football on two weekends from October 13-14 and 20-21 at the Sta. Lucia field.
This was disclosed by tournament director Engr. Nilo Ferraren as he called on all interested coaches to attend the first of two coordination meetings at 5 pm today at the SM City Consolacion.
“We’ll be meeting the different football coaches to discuss the ground rules, schedule and overall goals of the tournament,” Ferraren said.
The event, organized by the Consolacion United Town FC, will have 14 age -groups or divisions playing on four different days spread over the two weekends leading up to the Consolacion fiesta.
Up for grabs are titles in the players 6, players 8, players 10, boys 12, boys 15, boys 17, girls 14, girls 17, men's open, ladies open, men's 38-above, men's 42-above, men's inter-company and ladies inter-company.
Each age group will play in a football festival type one-day tournament featuring a seven-a-side format played in three separate pitches.
Day 1 on October 13 will have games played in the players 6, players 8, players 10, and boys 12 divisions. Day 2 on October 14 will be for the men’s open, ladies open, and men’s 38-above divisions. Day 3 on October 20 will be for boys 15, boys 17, girls 14, and girls 17. Day 4 on October 21 is set for the men’s open, ladies open, and men’s 42-above divisions. (PR) (FREEMAN)
