CEBU, Philippines - The title-hungry Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles hope to have a date with history tonight as they gun for a clean 3-0 sweep of defending champion University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers in the best-of-five juniors division finals of the 12th CESAFI basketball season.

Action shifts to the University of San Carlos (USC)-Main gym when the Magis Eagles take on the Baby Lancers for the third straight time and fifth overall this season at 5:30 pm.

Armed with a commanding 2-0 lead, the Magis Eagles are just one victory away from sealing their first ever championship in the annals of Cebu's premiere school-based cage league.

If they succeed anew in vanquishing the Baby Lancers, SHS-Ateneo can also lay claim as the only school to snatch the secondary division crown undefeated.

The Magis Eagles are riding on the crest of a spectacular 13-game winning streak, so far.

Today, there seems to be no stopping MVP Henric Dawn Ochea and his comrades as they go all-out for the jugular and lift the championship trophy denied of them for the past three years.

Rookie of the Year awardee Arc Gabrielle Araw-Araw is fast becoming the league's new sensation with his flashy moves and gutsy defensive stance aside from having a fine shooting touch from the 3-point land.

Manpower wise, the Magis Eagles have the advantage as their big men who can support Ochea at the post are more effective than the Baby Lancers' frontcourt crew of Prince Litton Canete, John Philipp de la Cerna, Leonard Santillan and Yusuf Samal.

The Magis Eagles are also fortunate enough that they only have to contend with the Baby Lancers' lone star in Andres Paul Desiderio.(GGM) (FREEMAN)
