Lee, Enriquez rule Run for Freedom and Democracy
CEBU, Philippines - Joeyry Lee and Riez Enriquez made the most from the absence of local running stars to rule their respective categories in the Run for Freedom and Democracy at the Plaza Independencia yesterday morning.
Enriquez bagged the men's 12K crown with the time of 43 minutes and 29 seconds. Michael Largo finished second in 45:06, while Ian Repuela placed third with a 48:01 clocking.
In the distaff side, Lee came out the fastest in 53 minutes and 33 seconds followed by Mary Jane Beboso in 56:52. Rochelle Tan, Cebu's reigning triathlon queen, stole part of the limelight after finishing third in 1:01:04.
Aiza Suaybaguio and Jury Ycong lorded it over in the 6K run.
Suaybaguio timed 26:14 to clinch the women's tiara. The next two spots were occupied by Anna Laplana (28:34) and Michelle Beboso (29:11).
Ycong reigned supreme in the men's bracket with the time of 20:37. Prince Joey Lee wound up second in 20:39 followed by Fritz Anor in 22:58.
Angelis Arnibal (13:50) led by winners' cast in the women's 3K followed by Yasmine Dorr (17:48) and Ramona Cauronilla (20:28).
The top three in the men's 3K battle were Michael Estrera (10:22), Raymond Dikigan (11:47) and Mario Ouano (12:34). (FREEMAN)
