USJ-R, UC start battle for 3rd place in CESAFI

CEBU, Philippines - Dethroned champion University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters will go up against the University of San Jose- Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars in today's battle for third in the 12th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) basketball season at the Cebu Coliseum.

Likewise, the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons will take on the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildkittens in their own best-of-three duel for third place in the juniors division.

The best-of-five finals featuring the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers against the Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras in the collegiate division and the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles versus the UV Baby Lancers in the juniors level will commence on September 25 yet.

Quinton Brian Heruela, Kim Gomez, Kido Cabrera, Robinson Mohammad and John Michael Auditor are among the top guns for the Webmasters, while the Jaguars will rely on Abulaiz Suliman, Miguel Tabaloc, James Regalado, Jason Olbedado and Banjo Capillar.

The Dragons, on the other hand, will bank on Mark Vincent Berdera and Manuel Grijaldo, while the Wildkittens can count on Mark Kong and Charles Patindol. (FREEMAN)
