2H2B Charity Run slated Oct. 14
CEBU, Philippines - A charity run for the benefit of two babies with heart ailments dubbed as the "2 Hearts to Beat - One Run, Two Lives" is slated on October 14 at the Cebu I.T. Park in Brgy. Apas, this city.
The 2H2B Run is a fund-raiser event for baby Maven, an eight-month-old child of Kristoffer Dominic and Hannah Almira Amor, and baby Gabrielle, a nine-month-old child of Michael and Joann Pearl Pacaña, who are both diagnosed with tetralogy of fallot (TOF), a congenital heart defect.
Aside from raising funds, the event organizers also aim to raise the level of awareness of congenital heart disease among infants. They want to emphasize that these defects are treatable given the proper care and funds.
"Timing is critical and parents with babies that have been diagnosed with TOF congenital heart defects are advised to have total correction within six months to one year of life. Research shows that early complete TOF repairs have low mortality rate with less complications,” said Analyn Bendijo, one of the organizers.
The race features the 3K and 5K categories. Cash prizes and gift items will be given away to the top finishers.
Registration fee is pegged at P300 for the 3K and P400 for the 5K. Entry forms are avaiable at Rudy Project and Runnr in Ayala Center-Cebu, Gold’s Gym at J Centre Mall along A.S. Fortuna Street in Mandaue City and NCR Cebu located at the IT Park through Mike Pacaña and Madz Niz.
