Race for Faith set Sept. 9

CEBU, Philippines - The Oasis of Love-Cebu batch 55 spearheads a run dubbed as ‘Race for Faith’ on September 9 starting and finishing at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) grounds.

The event organizers are expecting more than 2000 runners to participate in the event that serves as a fundraising activity for the upcoming seminars and activities of the batch 56 of the Oasis of Love-Cebu organization.

The race will feature 3-kilometers, 5-k and 14-k categories.

“Instead of a 10k run, we made it into 14-k as requested by the runners who wanted more challenge,” said race director Joel Juarez in a press conference yesterday at the Scoop Forum in Baseline Restaurant.

Cash prizes and medals at stake for the top three finishers of the 14k and 5k categories, while there will be no prizes for the 3k as it is considered as a fun run event.  There will also be a raffle after the race.

Registration fee is pegged at P250 for 5-k and 3-k races and P280 for 14-k that would entitle participants to a singlet and snacks.

Those who will opt to run without singlet will only pay P150.

Registration sites are at the RUNNR in Ayala Center Cebu, CCTN Channel 47 Station and Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).  Deadline for registration is on September 4.  - THE FREEMAN
