ALA Boys to hold public workout today

- Lemuel P. Maglinte - The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - Three ALA Boxing Gym stalwarts will show the fruit of their months of intense preparation as they hold their first public work-out today at the Activity center of the new SM City Consolacion.

Filipino KO artist Jason ‘El Niño’ Pagara, Genesis ‘Azukal’ Servania and Jimrex ‘Executioner’ Jaca who are the members of Team Philippines that will fight in the fifteenth installment of Pinoy Pride series dubbed as ‘Philippines vs Mexico the Rematch’ on August 18 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, will show their wares in front of their boxing fans.

Boxing fans from the northern part of Cebu will be given a chance to experience and observe how the future stars of Philippine boxing train and prepare for their up and coming fight dates with their opponents from Mexico.

Pagara who was out-boxed and out-punched by Mexican veteran Rosbel Montoya in their first meeting last year, will seek vengeance as he face the Mexican again, this time for the vacant WBO International Light Welterweight Championship.

Undefeated Filipino boxing star Genesis “Azukal” Servania who recently came off an impressive win against veteran Genaro “Poblanito” Garcia last June 2 at the Resort’s World Manila, will face another Mexican Jorge Pazos.

Veteran Jimrex Jaca will also try to carve an impressive comeback against Mexican Angel Martinez.

Aside from a chance to see their boxing idols, fans will also get a chance to win free tickets in a Pinoy Pride XV trivia contest.  - THE FREEMAN
