Stream drubs Xlibris 65,-53

CEBU, Philippines - Stream Ingenyouity bucked off a sluggish start to repulse the Xlibris Publishers, 65-53, in the Sun Cellular-presented 8th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament at the City Sports Club Cebu gym.

Benjie Mancao had 15 points and eight rebounds, while Edwin Bibera chipped in 11 markers on top of six rebounds, three assists and two steals for Stream, which outscored Xlibris in the second period, 22-14, to take full control of the match at halftime, 34-28.

Xlibris pulled within just a hairline after three quarters, 43-44, but Stream closed the match with a 21-10 bang to come up with a 12-point romp.

Segs Al Go Bui was the lone double-digit scorer for Xlibris with 12 points.

In the other games, Eliot Emerson Uy exploded with 28 points and seven rebounds as the Kyocera Frontiers toppled the JP Morgan Bankers, 75-52, while Janille Kristianne Bantilan and Fritz Vincent Blanes each scored 19 as the SupportSave Jaguars clawed the Cebu Global Warriors, 66-59.

Ariel Ramonito Edera added 18 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals in all all-around show for Kyocera, which used a sizzling 22-12 run in the second quarter to break the game open at the break, 36-26.

After mellowing down offensive in the third canto, Kyocera charged back with a 28-12 blitz in the windup for the 23-point blowout.

Joel Anthony Obungen led JP Morgan with 18 points followed by Rengie Cabanday with 13 markers on top of 10 rebounds, four steals and two assists in a losing cause.
