Pinoy Games to spice up Ironman
CEBU, Philippines - Aside from witnessing the country’s toughest triathlon race for the first time, the spectators of the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines have something else to look forward to as the city of Lapu-Lapu is organizing not only a street party but also some Pinoy games dubbed as 'Laro ng Lahi' on August 5.
Open to everyone who want to join the fun and excitement, the Laro ng Lahi features the traditional sack race, kadang and karang-karang.
The event will be done outside the Ironman route so as not to interrupt the action.
The organizers are allocating a total of P30,000 in cash prizes for the winners of the three side events.
On the other hand, the street party billed as 'Race Dance' will feature some local bands spiced up with Lapu-Lapu’s Rampada, their version of Rio de Janeiro’s carnival.
This is an additional treat for the participants as the Ironman organizers will be setting up a “barrio-type” fiesta after the race at Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa. - THE FREEMAN
