De los Santos, Tabal shine in Red Cross Run
CEBU, Philippines - Mary Grace de los Santos and Mary Joy Tabal avoided each other anew to gain equal share of the spotlight in the Red Cross-Cebu 'Run for Humanity' at the Cebu Business Park yesterday.
De los Santos ruled the women's 16K run with the with the time of one hour, 13 minutes and 52 seconds.
Madelyn Carter placed second with a 1:17:21 clocking, while Joeyry Lee came out third in 1:17:41.
Tabal stole part of the show as she clinched the women's 8K crown with the time of 30 minutes and 23 seconds. The Andrin sisters Lovely Fe and Jhean occupied the next two spots in 33:31 and 33:39, respectively.
It was another clean sweep by the Kenyans in the men's division, with Kiptanui lording it over in the 16K action. He clocked in 56 minutes and three seconds followed by Noel Tillor (56:25) and Alvirg Busa (56:44).
Kiptanui's compatriot Abraham Missos dominated the 8K race with a time of 26 minutes and 35 seconds. John Daryl Manos placed second, while Prince Joeyry Lee wound up third in 26:51.
Cherry Andrin, on the other hand, topped the women's 4K race in 17 minutes and 57 seconds followed by Irish Delechos (21:42) and May Anne Marfa (23:19).
On the other hand, the top three finishers in the men's 4K were Kenneth Mier (18:11), Keven Torremocha (19:05) and Kent Dominic Naster (20 mins). - THE FREEMAN
