SHS - Ateneo girds up for 2nd Friendship Swim

CEBU, Philippines - Busy days loom ahead for the athletic community of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu as aside from football, running and basketball, they will also stage their “2nd Friendship Swim 2012” on July 21 at the school's 25-meter pool at SHS-AdC in Brgy. Canduman, Mandaue City.Among the invited schools in this one-day competition are the University of San Carlos, Maria Montessori International School, University of the Visayas, Cebu Normal University, Sacred Heart School-Hijas de Jesus, Paref-Springdale and Southcrest, Talisay City, Palompon’s Philippine Institute of Technology and the University of Bohol.

The individual event features the 6-under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18-above age groups.

The relay competition, on the other hand, will have the 12-under, 13-17 and 18-above categories.

All the teams must submit their entry forms to Jess Arriola at [email protected] on or before July 18.

The eight-lane pool will be available for practice on July 20 from 4 to 7 pm, while payments for the registration will be accepted from 3 to 6 pm of the same day also at the swimming pool area.           

For those who can’t come on the 20th, they may pay on Saturday itself from 7 to 10 am. Entry fee is pegged at P150 per swimmer.

The organizers are allowing a swimmer to compete in five individual events of their age brackets.

An overall champion for the elementary, secondary and tertiary level will be declared based on the accumulated points by the swimmers of all the contending teams.
