CHV grabs Cordova cage title
CEBU, Philippines - Mark Abadia cashed in 16 points and Richard Ian Saladaga added 15 as the Cordova Home Village (CHV) completed a two-game sweep of Colis-Cebu, 103-95, to clinch the open division championship of the 6th Mayor Addy Sitoy Cup basketball tournament last Thursday night at the jampacked Cordova Sports Complex.
In the SK category, the BAL-Quickstep demolished barangay Cogon, 67-48.
The CHV of coach Leodi Garcia had ex-pro Dale Singson as their import. He finished with only six points.
Michael Cantonao backed up Abadia and Saladaga on the offensive end, scoring all his 12 points from the 3-point land.
Power forward John Villaver had a showtime, knocking in seven triples of his game-high 37 points, albeit in losing cause for Colis-Cebu of coach Jojo Romarate. Mark Ababon and Jimwell Torion chipped in 14 and 10 points, respectively.
Cordova Councilor Ximgil “Em-em” Sitoy was on hand to award the trophies and cash prizes to the winners.
