CEBU, Philippines - A total of P50,000 in cash prize is at stake for the top finishers of the 2nd DYAR Sonshine Radio Half Marathon slated on July 22 at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.

However, Sonshine Radio officer-in-charge William Valencia said foreign runners such as the Kenyans are excluded from the prizes.

"We give more support to our local runners. For the foreign runners, they can still joined but they are not entitled to any cash prize," said Valencia in a press conference yesterday at Jollibee-Mango branch.

Valencia said they hope to attract 3,000 entries in the second edition of their annual charity run for the benefit of DYAR's Operation Sonshine.

"We're aiming to gather around 3,000 participants. Hopefully we would be able to reach that target," said Valencia, who was joined by race director director Joel Baring of the Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE), Barbie Romeo of Andy's Hotel, William Lim of Pocari Sweat, Delip Doolani of Capriole and Gleny Abad of Jollibee-Mango in launching the event.
