Ex-OPBF champ Gasca in ring return tonight
CEBU, Philippines - Former OPBF super bantamweight champion Roli Gasca will slug it out with JR Mendoza in the main event of ALA Promotions and Cobra Energy Drink's “Tunay na Lakas Boxing” tonight at the Jaro Plaza in Iloilo City.
This will be Gasca's ring comeback since losing his belt to Japanese Yukinori Oguni on March 11, 2011 at the Sambo Hall in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan.
The Barili, Cebu-native Gasca, once a hot prospect from the ALA Boxing Gym, will surely have his hands full against the Cavite fighter.
The 23-year-old Gasca sports a 17-2 record spiked with 3KOs, while Mendoza carries an 8-9 slate also with 3KOs.
In the supporting bouts, Mhar Jhun Macahilig of the ALA Stable will go up against Jovel Romasasa of General Santos City, while the hard-hitting lightweight Mark Acub will mix it up with Elmer Colve of Pagadian City.
The rest of the card pits Mark Bernaldez vs. Juanito Tumogsok; Crispin Parba vs. Bonni Makiling; Jeffrey Segara vs. Rex De Lara; and Bryan Lobitana vs. Marlon Macayan. - THE FREEMAN
