- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebuano delegates claimed several honors during the Guimaras leg of the 2012 Downhill Riders of the Philippine Series last Saturday in Guimaras Island.

JR Barba of OZ Racing led the winners' cast after coming out the fastest among the pro riders, while Jun Vidal of Bike Psycho made it to the top 10 in the said class.

Two other OZ Racing bets in Christopher Miraflor and Jay Jay Vanstone posted a 1-2 finish in the beginners category to the delight of team owner Zandro Fajardo.

In the 19-29 age group, Eusebio Rabanes of OZ Racing placed second, Galvin Galan of V12 Radgear wound up sixth and Dave Chiong finished eighth.

Tribe Cebu’s Elwin “Bawing” Bucariza also lived up to expectations by taking home a silver medal in the 30-39 class despite running flat in the final heat.

Bucariza was lucky enough that he was already a bit close to the finish line when he punctured his wheel anew, not to mention that he also crashed earlier on a muddy tracks.

Jonathan Verga of V12 Radgear placed sixth in the same class as Bucariza, while Victor Bagano of Bike Psycho sealed Cebu’s bid with a bronze medal in the 40-above category. (FREEMAN)
