Cebuana gymnasts compete in S'pore today

CEBU, Philippines - Two Cebuana gymnasts will see action in the 9th Singapore Open Gymnastics starting today at the Bishan Sports Hall of Bishan Stadium.

They are Karen Sthea Velez of the University of the Visayas (UV) and Kimberly Gabrielle Paler of the Formation School and Kiddies Learning Center. They will both competed in the rhythmic sport gymnastics (RSG).

The two youngsters were accompanied by UV coach Darlene Castañeda-De la Pisa.

Paler and Velez will strut their wares in different apparatus like the ribbon, ball, clubs and hoops against Singapore’s top gymnasts and a bunch of other foreign entries.

Castañeda said the presence of national team members from Austria and host Singapore will surely give her wards a tough challenge. (FREEMAN)
