CEBU, Philippines - Lloyd Jefferson Go set the early pace for class A (15 to 17 years old) of the boys’ division in the Frankie Miñoza Junior Golf Circuit Cebu Country Club Leg, which teed off yesterday.
Go, of the host club, fired one-under-par 71 yesterday and was the only one to break par shooting nines of 35 and 36.
At second is Camp Aguinaldo’s Kristoffer Arevalo with 76 strokes followed by his teammate Rupert Zaragosa with 78, who is tied with CCC’s Harvbey Sytioingsa.
Gio Gandionco, who won the title for this category in last week’s tournament at Alta Vista and the Philippine Amateur Junior Golf title last Friday, fired an opening round of 79.
In the girls’ division, Del Monte’s Apple Fudolin, who won the Del Monte and Alta Vista legs, is tied for the lead with Alta Vista’s Ericka Lim. They both fired 80 strokes yesterday.
Gabee Crystal is at third spot with 93 strokes.
In class B, Jets Sajulga of Del Monte and We-wei Gao of Alta Vista are tied for the lead with 77 strokes apiece. Jelbert Gamolo of Del Monte is one stroke back.
In the girls’ division, Pamela Mariano and teammate Rainstar Roque fired 73 and 77 strokes, respectively to lead. They are followed by CCC’s Alyeska Yunam with 80 strokes.
The class C leader for the boys’ category is Aguinaldo’s Carlo Villaroman with 79 followed by Del Monte’s Marlon Santiago and Russell Bautista with 83 apiece.
Leading the girls’ field is Lois Kaye Go of CCC with 74 followed by Del Monte’s Sofia Chabon with 78.
Alta Vista’s Wei-yu Gao leads class D for boys with 82 strokes followed by Coby Rolida of Del Monte with 90.
Angela Mangana of Mactan leads the girls’ category with 88 strokes followed by Del Monte’s Martina Miñoza with 91.
Tatsu Ochiai of CCC set the pace for class E for boys with a nine-hole total of 39 strokes. At second is Matt Bucao of Alta Vista with 48.
In the girls’ class, Del Monte’s Marie Aparilla fired 54 followed by Alta Vista’s Anica Alfonso with 63.
