Pages,Salimbangon win titles in Bacolod netfest

CEBU, Philippines - What Cebuana netters Jana Pages and Kristine Renee Salimbangon missed in Cebu they got in the City of Smiles after they topped their respective divisions in the Bacolod leg of the Head-Smart Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit 2012.

Pages claimed the girls 14 crown following a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Maria Dominique Ong, while Salimbangon snared the girls 12 title with a 6-3, 6-1 drubbing of Ericka Sevilla.

Pages actually advanced to the girls 14 final after edging out Salimbangon, 6-1, while Ong booked the remaining championship ticket at the expense of another Cebuana player Shynne Villareal, 6-3.

Ong got even with Pages in the girls 16 category, but she had to go through a super tiebreak before squeezing out a 2-6, 7-6, 10-6 victory. — (FREEMAN)
