Don't be blue on Blue Night
This year’s edition of the La Salle-Ateneo Golf Classic will be held in Bacolod City this July.
La Salle is mentioned first, because the Greenies are hosting the event this year. After years of having a hard time matching with the Ateneans, the La Sallians found a great way to even things up – hold the Cebu tournament in a place where there are more Greenies.
With University of St. La Salle-Bacolod producing many good golfers, we hope to win the overall title this year.
Yes, we as I play for the Greenies like my good friend Brucedy Chan, who seems to always get his game going every time there is a La Salle-Ateneo tournament.

The reason why I brought up the tournament is because of a request from a very close friend of mine, who is from the other side of the fence in the annual battle.
My compadre Jack Huang is only one of my many close friends who play for Ateneo in the annual event.
Jack asked me to let his fellow alumni of the Ateneo de Manila University, who are based in Cebu, know that they will be holding a Blue Night this May 18, Friday, at Formo in Banilad Town Centre (BTC).
Jack said that the event will start at 6 p.m. and the guest of honor will be Fr. Jett Villarin, SJ, the new Ateneo de Manila University president.
Also invited to attend this activity are former “king eagles” Kirk Long and Eman Monfort.
I’m sure Jack and the other Blue Eagles will also be discussing the tournament this July. Good luck to you guys and hope you will have a lot of fun.

I received many reports about the continued negligence of many users of the Cebu City Sports Center to properly dispose of trash and follow the rules and regulations set by the facility.
While this is a government facility and people pay a token amount to get in for maintenance, it does not give anybody the right to disregard the rules and regulations.
I have suggested to one of the staff of the sports center that fines be imposed on those who refuse to throw their trash properly.
It would also be good to ban people, who are recidivists, because their kind should not be mixed with the rest, who follow the rules.
Maybe it is time for the management of the sports center to show some balls in implementing the rules.
This sports facility cost the people a lot of money to build and to maintain and repair, so let us not allow the undisciplined to destroy it.
