Hectic summer sked for Cebu chess
CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano pawnpushers have something to look forward to this summer as five chess tournaments will be staged in the different areas of Cebu.
Yesterday, the 8th PMS Chess Club, Inc. Tabunok Fiesta Open formally kicked off at the second floor of Gaisano Grand Fiesta Mall in Brgy. Tabunok, Talisay City. The competition will run until May 6.
On May 12-13, the Mohon, Sogod Kiddies Open will take place followed by the Mayor Celestino “Junie” E. Martinez, Jr. Open Chess on May 19-20 at the Bogo City Plaza.
On the other hand, the much-awaited chess event of the Cebu Sportsfest 2012 is slated on May 19-20 at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).
On June 2-3, the Tuburan Siglakas Open Chess Tournament will be contested at the Tuburan Town Plaza.
