"Aftershock" airsoft tourney on today

CEBU, Philippines - The second leg of the 2012 Cebu City Mayor Michael L. Rama Airsoft Cup dubbed as "Aftershock" gets underway today at the Sugbo grounds of South Road Properties (SRP).

The snipers from Team Crack Legion are out to defend the title they won during the first leg held three months ago in Bantayan Island.

The other contending squads expected to give Crack Legion a run for its money are Sakro Platoon, Team Diablo of Danao, Mizrach, J.A.S.O.C. A & B, Deep Recon, Silver Arrows, ML BOA, Team AFP, Overknights, Azkals, ATF, Generals and Trident Knights. 

Points accumulated in all four legs will determine the overall champion that will be declared before the year ends.

Aside from the prestige and bragging rights of being the champion, special accolades will also be given away such as the best in QCB (close quarter battle) and Sportsmanship award.

Exciting freebies are up for grabs in the raffle draw at the end of the two-day tilt jointly organized and sanctioned by Team SCAR (Southern Cebu Airsoft Recon) and GAT (Guadalupe Airsoft Team).

"It's going to be another shoofest of fun and excitement. Airsoft entails not only shooting skills, but also physical strength and mental ability for you to achieve effeciently all the objectives set in every game. May the best team win," said Team SCAR president Jeson L. Guardo.

The rest of the SCAR officers are Carlo Antonio Chua (vice president), Francis Abella Jaca (secretary), Vitus Sy (treasurer) and Cael Bronce (auditor). The team leaders are Dionie Baylon of GAT and Ian S. Luga of SCAR. (FREEMAN)
