6th Cong. Red Durano caging kicks off tomorrow in Carmen

CEBU, Philippines - The sixth edition of the Congressman Red Durano Cup 19-Under Inter-Town Basketball Tournament will kick off tomorrow at the Carmen Sports Complex.

Carmen municipal councilor Roy Melgo said a grand and colorful opening ceremony will usher in the exciting competition aimed at discovering potential hardcourt talents in their area.

In running the affairs of the tournament, Melgo will be assisted by Alex de la Torre, team consultant of the Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) Wildcats in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI).

Cebu 5th District Rep. Red Durano will be on hand to grace the kick-off bash. Durano will be joined by all the mayors of 10 municipalities comprising Cebu's fifth district.

These are Borbon, Sogod, Catmon, Carmen, Compostela and Liloan along with Pilar, Tudela, Poro and San Francisco of Camotes island.

“This annual event aims to promote sportsmanship, fair play, development of the moral values of athletes, and foster good relationship and goodwill among the member towns of the 5th district of Cebu,” said Melgo. (FREEMAN)
