Pajo belles place third in Shakey's volleyball

CEBU, Philippines - The Pajo National High School (PNHS) belles faltered in their title quest but still have something to be proud of as they placed third overall in the 9th Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League National Finals the other day in Davao City.

The win wasn't served on a silver platter as PNHS of coach Fr. Rolando T. Manayon had to pass through a five-setter thriller before getting rid of Holy Family Academy, 25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 18-25, 15-12.

Among those who carried Pajo to victory were the likes of Gretchel Soltones, Lovely Marie Murillo, Denice Francesca Lim, June Mae Ares and Mariel Gornez.

PNHS failed to advance into the finals after bowing to defending champion University of St. La Salle (USLS)-Bacolod in straight sets, 25-12, 25-22, 25-23. - THE FREEMAN
