Cebu bets sparkle in Manila dancefest

CEBU, Philippines - The members of Dancesport-Team Cebu City kicked off their 2012 campaign on a positive note, hauling in 14 golds, 13 silvers and 10 bronzes in the season-opening DSCPI National First Quarterly Rankings and Competition the other night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The comebacking Jennifer Amahan and Jed Villaruel spearheaded TCC's gold medal rush after topping the premiere latin grade A category. Their comrades Wilbert Aunzo and Pearl Marie Cañeda took the bronze medal.

Jerswin Poloyapoy and Anne Poloyapoy donated gold in the standard professional 5-dance event.

Gylle Niño Deluvio and Anndreah Kiem Capangpangan, however, were the most bemedalled of all the TCC bets after clinching three golds via the latin juvenile C and standard juvenile C and A action.

Lark Jabonero and Mary Ann Ferrer handed over two golds through the latin special event male and female.

Filemon Baguio and Jhistine Glyde Baguio also got two golds through the latin and standard junior C action along with Rinzon Elarcosa and Reyana Mae Elarcosa in the latin youth A and standard youth C division.

The other golds were turned over by John Paul Mocorro and Therese Andre Quilaton in the latin junior A, Jimmy Noel and Elizabeth Zetz in the standard senior C, and Charlie Camacho and Marisse Santiago in the latin senior C.

Eleanor Hayco and her new dance partner, Davin Unabia, snatched two silvers through the latin SE2F (5-dance) and latin senior C.

Top modern standard bets Bernie Tumarong and Miljane Camacho bagged silver in the latin grade A, while Jeffrey Benarao and Mae Paracuelles handed two silvers in latin junior C and junior A.

The rest of the TCC silver medallists were Carl Panlaan and Krissaela Sala in the latin juvenile C, Lark Jabonero and Mary Ann Ferrer in latin grade C, Samson Orlanes and Jessa Mae Briones in the latin grade B and standard grade C, Bruce Ty and Akiko Tamura in the standard special event–female, John Paul Mocorro and Therese Andrei Quilaton in the standard junior A, Jeffrey Benarao and Mae Paracuelles in the standard youth C and Marlon Aliño and Mint Lee in the standard senior C.

The bronze medals were contributed by Renante Saldua and Victoria Alix in the standard special Event 5-dance, Bruce Ty and Akiko Tamura in the standard grade D, Samson Orlanes and Eleanor Hayco in the special event 2Female, Carl Palaan and Krissaela Sala in the standard juvenile C, Gylle Niño Diluvio and Anndreah Kiem Capangpangan in the latin juvenile A, Rinzon and Reyana Mae Elarcosa in the latin youth C, Jimmy Noel and Elizabeth Zetz in the latin senior C, Christopher Albert Corro and Karla Josefina Fornonelles in the latin grade C and Bert Kevin Dilivio and Jam Flores in the standard youth C.
