CEBU, Philippines - Mary Grace de los Santos reaffirmed her status as Cebu's road running queen after topping the women's division of the El Krudo-Team Lahutay Race For Cebu’s Pride yesterday at The Terraces grounds of Ayala Center Cebu.
De los Santos, one of the major awardees during the 30th Sportswriters Association of Cebu-San Miguel Brewery (SAC-SMB) on the eve of the race at the same venue, completed the 12-kilometer action in 50 minutes and 35.62 seconds
De los Santos was way ahead of Christy Sevilleno-Tutor who clocked in 52:16.50, while Joeyry Lee claimed the third place honors in 52:46.75.
In the men's 12K, the Kenyans scored another clean sweep led by Josphat Too (40:03.91) followed by Francis Kakoi (41:00.50) and Douglas Mwiti (42:23.69).
Abraham Misson, another regular Kenyan runner here, dominated the men’s 6K with the time of 20 minutes. Bonifacio Monjas wound up second in 20:33.49 as Jorry Ycong ended up third with the time of 21:53.38.
In the distaff side, the Andrin sisters occupied the first two spots with Lovely Fe placing first (24:47.45) followed by Jhean in 25:22.31. Lynle Cardenas placed third in 26:15.06.
Jobert Carolino outsmarted Joel Delposo in the men’s 3K with the time of 8:32.65 as against the latter’s 8:36.63.
Aiza Suwaybaguio ruled the girls side with a 10:56.38 clocking. - THE FREEMAN
