CEBU, Philippines - Four more players led by Joel Malaki stormed into the final 16 knockout stage of the 1st Pacific Wings Farm Promotions 9-Ball Handicapping Tournament the other day at the 138 Mall Billiards Center along Colon Street, this city.
Malaki pulled off a 5-4 squeaker over Allan "Collonade" Milan to join Chucky Alcedera, Keith Manayon and Ritchie Ebareta into the next round.
Alcedera and Manayon both came up with a 5-4 cliffhanger over Alfred Papa and Christian Mahugay, respectively.
The other qualifiers include Mark Uy, Shan Mark and Joey Enot.
A total of P35,000 in cash prize is at stake for the top finishers of the five-fay tournament bankrolled by billiards patron Atty. Luisito "Louie" Arma.
The champion will pocket P14,000, while the second placer will receive P7,000. The third and fourth will get P3,500 and P2,500.
The fifth to eighth finishers will receive P1,000 apiece, while those who will make it to the last 16 are assured of P500 each. (FREEMAN)
