Queen City U routs Sunken Garden
CEBU, Philippines - Cebu's Queen City United scored what is by far its most impressive victory in the second division of the United Football League (UFL) after it massacred the Sunken Garden FC, 12-0, yesterday at the Bonifacio Global City pitch.
The outcome of the match was already a foregone conclusion after the spirited QCU mainstays of coach Mario Ceniza posted a commanding 6-0 lead at halftime.
Queen City, thus, improved its win-loss record to 3-2 spiked with one draw.
Rommel Cuizon broke the ice of the match with just four minutes gone by in the game. Dandan Villarico followed suit with back-to-back goals at the eighth and 29th.
Linmar Baunsit found the back of the net at the 22nd before Marion Cubelo chipped in a goal at the 33th.
Taking advantage of Sunken Garden’s lethargic showing, Queen City bombarded its hapless foes with six more goals for the 12-0 rout.
Junard Aguilar made his presence felt at the 53rd, while Villarico completed his hat-trick five minutes later.
Cubelo scored anew at the 72nd before Benedict Arriola and Bryan Eborda delivered their contributions at the 85th and 89th. It was Miles Conmigo who sealed QCU's masterful demolition. (FREEMAN)
