Talisay City to stage first triathlon race on Mar. 25

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano triathletes gear up for another exciting action with the staging of the first Talisay Triathlon March 25 at the new Talisay fish port in Brgy. Tangke.

The event is a welcome development for the local disciples of the three-in-one sport especially those who can’t afford to join an international off-road triathlon set here next month.

The Talisay race features different classes from kids up to the adult participants.

The adult division will be classified into several age-brackets, but all the entries will compete in one kilometer swim, 30K bike and 7.5K run.

It also features a mixed relay and kids category with three age-brackets:10-under, 11-12 and 13-14. The kids will have to deal with 300m swim, 8K bike and 3K run.

Cash prizes will be given away to the top three winners. All finishers will get a souvenir shirt and a specially-designed medal.

Registration forms are available at the Talisay City Sports Commission office, Runnr in Ayala Center-Cebu and Vicky's Marketing-Manalili, Tabunok and Naga branches.   (FREEMAN)
