QCU XI falls prey to Agila FC in UFL
CEBU, Philippines - The Queen City United (QCU) FC of Cebu suffered a heart-breaking 2-1 defeat to Aguila FC in the second division of the United Football League (UFL) yesterday at the Turf in Bonifacio Global City.
The QCU booters of coach Mario Ceniza actually jumped off to a good start, with Junard Aguilar finding the back of the net with just a minute gone by in the game.
But that was QCU's only bright moment as Aguila FC retaliated with two consecutive goals to turn the table on the Cebuano visitors.
Despite the loss, Ceniza was thankful that none of his players was charged with a yellow card, which means that can all play in their next assignment against Laos FC. He is also hoping that his two starters, Lehmar Baunsit and Ryan Lerio, could already play.
Baunsit is nursing from a pneumonia, while Lerio attended to his sick son in San Carlos City.
“Sayang wala sila kaduwa ganiha. They could have added boost to the team, but I could not blame them because there are really unforeseen events that will happen. I just hope they could already play in our next match,” said Ceniza. - THE FREEMAN
