Bosconians sizzle in Aboitiz football

CEBU, Philippines - Teams from Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) stole the show in the resumption of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup yesterday at the Aboitiz Sports field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

DBTC-A blanked the hapless Blessed John Seminary, 8-0, to take the solo lead in boys 14 category with an immaculate 5-0 slate.

In the same age classification, DBTC-B, outsmarted Cebu International School, 2-1, while in the boys 12, the Bosconians silenced Centre for International Education (CIE), 6-0.

The DBTC booters sustained their hot streak with a 1-0 victory over Bright Academy in the players 6 action.

Bright Academy-B lost to Canduman Dedon, 3-1, while San Roque Football Club and Giuseppe fought to a 1-1 draw.

In the other players 6 matches, Bright Minds Active Learning Village (BMALV) beat Mactan Airbase Elementary School (MABES), 1-0, while CPMS defeating Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, 1-0.

Meanwhile, the schedule of games in players 8 and 10 have been moved to a later date.

Action in the men’s division, however, will resume today with Queen City United-A hoping to pad its lead in bracket A when it takes on Don Bosco-Magone.

QCU-A is currently on top of the heap with a 4-0 card, while DB-Magone sports one win, so far.

The rest of today's games pit QCU-B vs. SRRU, DBUFC-B vs. Crazy Horse, ERCO vs. SFC, and SRFC Arsenal vs. Uptown United. (FREEMAN)
