Lominoque leads semifinalists in Dunlop tennisfest

CEBU, Philippines - Vince Lominoque scored a 10-4 romp of Christopher Salimbangon to claim semifinal berth in the 10-under division of the 2012 Dunlop Visayas Junior Tennis Series at the Cebu International Tennis Centre, Inc. (CITCI) courts in Brgy. Laray, Consolacion.

Lominoque will take on next Eric Longakit, who also advanced after walloping Dwayne Mosqueda, 10-4.

The other 10-under semifinal match pits Gabriel Trazo against Tacloban’s Edwin Mañas. Trazo clobbered Joseph Mosqueda, 10-1, while Mañas tamed John Corloncito, 10-5.

In the boys 12-under, Gener Francis Lambayan marched into the penultimate round along with Ray Toledo and Mark Suson.

Lambayan silenced Jace Unto, 10-0, Toledo dumped Caze Villarba, 10-2, while Mark Suson rolled past Nathaniel Alepe, 10-5.

On the other hand, Fernando Arquelles and Ivan Olo came out the first semifinalists in their respective classes.

Arguelles outsmarted Lambayan, 10-4, in the boys 14 action, while Olo kicked out Francis Parangan, 10-5.

In the distaff side, Joy Pogoy, Edhel Parangan, Kristine Salimbangon and Jethley Alferez stromed into the semifinal. Pogoy, Alferez and Salimbangon all won by default, while Parangan pounded Jaesil Bornea, 10-0.

In the girls 18, Mary Grace Melchor and Keizia Jabinez stayed in the title hunt after clobbering Quinna Mañas and Mary Claire Lazaga, respectively. (FREEMAN)
