CEBU, Philippines - Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu bagged three titles in one day at the 2nd Sinulog Cup Football tournament played in two separate venues here.
SHS-AdC got the girls’ 17 and boys’14 title at the University of San Carlos Technological Campus Field in Talamban, this city and the players’ 8 division crown at San Roque Football Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue.
At USC-TC, SHS-AdC outsmarted St. Theresa’s College in the final girls’ 17 battle via shoot-out, 2-1.
Both squads were scoreless at end of the regulation period of this seven-a-side action.
STC was confident it could win the title after dismissing defending champion USC Girls in the semifinals, but SHS-AdC was equally-tough that pave to a shootout that went in favor of the latter.
SHS-AdC’s boys’14 squad also got its title through a shoot-out, 2-1 at the expense of Paref-Springdale B.
Over at San Roque, SHS-AdC posted a convincing 2-0 victory over Count FC to win the players’ 8 class.
On the other hand, Springdale got two titles so far after dominating the boys’ 17 and 12 divisions.
Springdale defeated USC-TC, 2-0 in another shootout.
In the boys’12 final, Springdale outsmarted Canduman’s Dedon, 1-0.
Dedon, however, was able to bounce back as they emerged the champion on the players’ 6 class over Count FC.
San Roque Football Club had a 1-2 finish, that as they won the girls’14 title but lost to Danao FC in the players’ 10 final. - THE FREEMAN
